I am a certified ICNHA Henna Artist serving the Southeast Florida area. The ICNHA (International Certification for Natural Henna Artists), is a voluntary peer assessment for henna artists which recognizes the need for artists to understand the fundamental principles of henna, skin, hygiene, safety, culture, and traditions. An artist certified by the ICNHA acknowledges that they will only use safe, natural henna and no products with PPD (para-phenylenediamine) – black hair dye.

I make my own henna paste by using only 100% natural henna powder, lemon juice, sugar, and essential oils – absolutely no hair dyes or chemicals added! I have been studying the art of Mendhi body decoration since 2003 when a friend introduced me to the art form. I am proficient in many styles of henna including Indian Bridal, Mumbai, Indo-Arabic, modern, Moroccan, tribal, and flash tattoo artwork. I am able to create a custom design for you or blend different elements together for a unique design.
In 1997, I graduated with a BA in History of Art from Michigan State University and I think I've at long last found my niche in the arts with creating intricate henna designs for adornment on the body. I am also a belly dancer, chandler (candlemaker), baker, and seamstress in addition to having a full-time job as a business analyst.
In 2000 I started taking belly dance lessons when a friend asked me if I wanted to join her in taking the class. Now I am a professional belly dancer noted for my skills in playing the zills (finger cymbals). I dance in the Vintage Orientale style and I am proficient in the use of zills, veil, sword, and cane. I am available for private parties as well as private instruction in the use of zills, beginning belly dance, and beginning doumbek (Middle Eastern drum).

A belly dance performance will enhance and embellish your event, while illustrating the beauty and vibrancy of Arabic music and dance. The show is classy, fun, and intended for the whole family!
Please contact me at diana@springtimehenna.com if you are interested in booking a dancer for your special event. Absolutely no bachelor or all male parties. Sound system and ample space to dance must be provided by the client.

In addition, I am also a chandler (candlemaker). My candles are made with either soy wax or palm wax. Both waxes are renewable resources, unlike paraffin wax (derived from petroleum) that is found in most common store bought candles today. Special orders available upon request.
